After this Christmas there will be no more CompUSA's around.  They have decided to sell them all.  I still go there for some things you just can't get anywhere else fast like business grade network gear.

Thanksgivings over and all the people are gone.  The house feels empty for months afterward.

This year my Daughter Brandi her husband Nate and the two little ones Mason and Myleah stayed with me.  It was great!  I only wish that little Jaden could have come down too.  Now to get used to the empty house again until next year.

Just a quick note to anyone who might still read this blog.  ;)  Happy Thanksgiving!!!  And if you don't live in the States well.....  Happy Thanksgiving anyway.  Now go have a big dinner and over eat!!

Ok two things really.  First is I'll be, or should be starting a new job at Level 3 on the 19th of this month.  I feel kind of bad because Tandberg TV was so good to me.  In the end though I have to take the chance and make the jump.  There are a lot of reasons but hating the cable TV industry is up there on the list pretty close to number one.

Second.  I've been wanting to get my dog Patches a buddy to play with while I'm not at home.  She gets lonely I'm sure.  I've held off since I always had jobs I traveled with and it was hard enough finding someone to watch one dog.  Now I've got two.  Peanut is an 8 month old Miniture Pincher full of energy and bouncy.  They seem to be getting along pretty well so far.  We'll see how it goes.  Now for the puppy training again...

Waiting is always the worst part.  This time it's particularly hard.  All will become clear soon.... :)

High Tech hoaxes and other Tom foolery

Wow Almost a whole month without a new post.  Lots of things changing for me right now, a lot going on and I've been sick. 

I never used to get sick but I've had this nagging cold, strep, and I think the flu last Friday that has been dogging me for a month now.  I guess that's what I get for getting older :) and smoking probably doesn't help at all.  I think I'll quit that.

I'm always buying new watches for one reason or another and I like them big and flashy.  Tokyoflash has the weirdest and flashiest I've seen in a long time.  I don't think I could tell time with them though :)

If you want to get all the subscribers or at least most of them get the networks to drop the ads and logos that clutter up the bottom of the screen during shows.

With Verizon deployed in 5% of Comcasts market they are starting to feel the pinch.  They are also starting to worry more about DirecTV and Dish taking HDTV customers away.  Stock price is slipping on investor fears of decreased revenue.

All I can say as a current Comcast subscriber is "good!"  I wish Verizon or AT&T were deploying in my area.  Time to short Comcast and Time Warner?  :)
