Now this is something I like to see. It's good for the Artists, Customer and the Music companies. Magnatune is a music label that sells their library online for $5 an album or you can pay more if you want. There is no DRM and you are given express permission to share the files. If you delete a file no problem just download it again.
The Artists get a 50% split off the top and also 50% of merchandise sales. Check out the TechCrunch article.

This is great and I hope it doesn't get fixed to soon. Steve Rubel has figured out how to read all of the O'Reilly series of book for free from the Google book search. It also works for the Frommerer's travel guides.

Evidently Cirrus General Aviation planes are having a problem with their brakes. Of course it's Pilot error. Also of course I would read about it first on law.harvard.com website. It looks like he is a fellow Pilot so I'll give him the benefit of doubt. Philip Greenspun makes a good point about the placement of the parking brake. I learned to fly in a Cessna 172SP and it was pretty hard to miss the parking brake.
I still wouldn't mind owning an SR20 though. Promise I'll check the brake. :)
My buddy Curtis just mentioned to me who Philip Greenspun is. I would like to be this guy. :) And not only for the Cirrus SR20.

I started noticing this with the Nike Jet that had the landing gear problem awhile back. I've got CNN showing on my desk just about all day unless I'm testing something and I've seen just about all of the recent problems with aircraft of all types and sizes. From the BeechCraft doing a belly landing to the 767 landing in LA with nose gear turned the wrong way.
Aircraft having problems isn't new but it's not really all that common either. Almost always everything comes out fine too. The article looks at why we like watching this kind of thing or is it just a FOX news thing. It's pretty interesting.

This is great. My friend Curtis (the lucky bum) who got to move back to Denver wrote this article Portland Sucks. I link to it here in my continuing saga.

Linux has a problem actually all Unix like OS's have this problem and one place where Windows and Apple have a big edge. That is strange naming practices. If you were a photographer and needed to edit a photo what would be the first name to jump out at you Photoshop or GIMP. There are a bunch of these and it's one reason Linux will never replace windows with the common user.

Linux's Difficulty with names.

Google must be a great place to work. If I tried to pile up 250 pounds of Silly Putty in my cube they would ship me off to work on some project in the middle of nowhere. I work for a bunch of people that are used to dealing with Coal Miners and College students so probably wouldn't have the right since of humor. :)
