I started noticing this with the Nike Jet that had the landing gear problem awhile back.  I've got CNN showing on my desk just about all day unless I'm testing something and I've seen just about all of the recent problems with aircraft of all types and sizes.  From the BeechCraft doing a belly landing to the 767 landing in LA with nose gear turned the wrong way.

Aircraft having problems isn't new but it's not really all that common either. Almost always everything comes out fine too.  The article looks at why we like watching this kind of thing or is it just a FOX news thing.  It's pretty interesting.
